This was an early morning shot taken last January from a room on the Stardust Hotel tower in Las Vegas. Facing the (then) newly opened Wynn Hotel and a slight view down the strip.
It took a couple of attempts to get the angle right to reduce the glare from the hotel windows.
I consider this one of my "once it a lifetime" lucky shots, as shortly after the Stardust Hotel and Casino announced it would be closing, to make way for a new resort to be built on the same site. The last day of operation for the Stardust Hotel and Casino was November 1st, 2006.
The Echelon Place resort is scheduled to be built from 2007 thru to a grand opening in 2010, as a replacement for the Stardust.
If I start saving now, I may be able to afford the room at the Wynn Hotel, to get a reverse shot of the new resort in 2010.
